Ahh, further reading reveals why, makes sense. It was a uniform standard back in the day but forth by James E. Casey in the day. Interesting! I think actually this makes a good resource to explaining to peole who question the whole beard history thing we've had going too. Now we can say we are not the only ones who are late comers to changes of the modern world. 😄
