Adobe After Effects Course: Level 1

I am thinking of doing some courses but I am somewhat confused if they are good value https://cce.sydney.edu.au/course/AAE1

Can someone advise me if is worth it? 

Suggest alternatives? 

Is it hard to learn from scratch? (I do not even have a program yet)

Is there any specific reason for learning it?

I personally use Hitfim pro but thats mainly because after effects is silly money to me.

It can do motion tracking, green screen etc

I used to play with After Effects just to do lightsabers in picture and in videos when I was younger

Not yet, still looking into it - meditating to see if I have time to improve my skills when it comes to video productions, as it seems to be big investment timewise.

What were you hoping to be able to do? Special fx can indeed be complex but colour correction, motion tracking etc is pretty straight forward.
