Monday 26th July 2021 will mark 90 years of being called Jehovah's Witnesses (or witnesses with small w)

I feel like this calls for cake! 🍰

It's the perfect name indeed !   It's who we are and what we do.

 

I am remembering , a tendency to avoid using the name on the initial call.  Or, at least at the "Hello".

 

One brother interviewed said his introduction was always the same,  "Good morning, I'm one of Jehovah's Witnesses".  He didn't have anything else prepared to say because the householder would always say "Not interested".  He explained in the interview that he didn't enjoy the ministry and he didn't want to engage in a conversation. Announcing that he was one of Jehovah's Witnesses was effective at shutting down further conversation.

 

The interview went on to explain that the brother evaluated his ministry and learned to enjoy it and find ways to start conversations.
