Sudden destruction is to be instantly on them, . . . and they will by no means escape.—1 Thess. 5:3.

 

Imagine that the nations have just made their long-awaited proclamation of “peace and security.” They may boast that the world has never been so safe. The nations will want us to think that they have the world situation under control. But they have absolutely no control over what will follow. “Babylon the Great” will be destroyed! (Rev. 17:5, 15-18) “God [will] put it into their hearts to carry out his thought.” What is that thought? To destroy the world empire of false religion, including Christendom. God will put his thought into the hearts of “the ten horns” of the “scarlet-colored wild beast.” The ten horns represent all the political powers that support “the wild beast”—the United Nations. (Rev. 17:3, 11-13; 18:8) When those political powers turn on false religion, that will mark the beginning of the great tribulation. It will be a truly catastrophic world event. w19.10 14 ¶1, 3

it was such a thought provoking article and I can remember discussing deeply how ‘Sudden’ is sudden , sudden by our thinking or by Jehovah’s…

 

further on in the article it mentions about keeping Jehovah’s standards regarding morals and keeping ourselves clean and apart from the worlds views on the subject…. Things have got so much worse since 2019 just two years ago, may Jehovah’s kingdom come quickly 🙏

 How we long to see world events and bible prophecy  fulfilled before our very eyes. The sooner these things happen the sooner our relief will come. In the  meantime with patience and prayer we pray for God's Kingdom to come. But wait, there's more. In Rev 22: 7, 12,20 we are assured that Jesus is coming quickly.  7 "Look! I am coming quickly..." ; 12 ‘Look! I am coming quickly, and the reward I give is with me, to repay each one according to his work. 20 “The one who bears witness of these things says, ‘Yes, I am coming quickly.’”   Take courage friends, our Lord is coming quickly.

Unlike people in general, we discern where current events are heading. In exactly what manner will this prophecy about peace and security be fulfilled? We must wait and see how the world scene develops. Therefore, “let us stay awake and keep our senses.”—1 Thess. 5:6;Zeph. 3:8.

It's ironic how much tension there is right now regarding Taiwan and Belarus/Poland.  The media describes these situations as "at the boiling point".

 

So, because things are so tense, it does seem likely that something big will take place, before it's too late.  These nations (Russia, China, USA) know they cannot afford war, can't go there.  Somehow, they will step back from the edge of the cliff, and claim P&S is attainable.

 

Biden has a meeting with Xi today.  Who knows what they will announce?   Exciting times!
