This is sad. Fear and, apparently a lack of sense, caused this mother to do something incredibly stupid.

Houston-area mom put son in trunk because he had COVID-19, court documents say

Sarah Beam, a teacher at Cypress Falls High School in the Cy-Fair Independent School District, has been charged with endangering a child.

According to court documents, Beam took the 13-year-old boy to a drive-thru COVID testing site at Pridgeon Stadium on Monday, January 3, for additional testing.

A CFISD employee who was gathering information from people in line said Beam told her the boy was in the trunk because she didn't want to be exposed to the virus.

Seriously? And she's a teacher!

1.  Exposure to your child's germs is part of being a parent.  I'm sorry, but that's life.

Now, that being said...

2. Make your child wear a mask. Maybe even two masks.  Have him sit in the back seat with his head down

3.  You wear a mask. Maybe even two masks.  And sunglasses.  And wear rubber gloves that you wash dishes with. And a raincoat.

Now you can transport your child to the testing site.

Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well-spoken-of, whatever things are virtuous, and whatever things are praiseworthy, continue considering these things.

And it's Houston, so the weather is probably fine. Roll the windows down for the ride.

Windows down, both wear masks, child in the back seat. She would probably be fine.
