My understanding is that the hybrid meeting will continue in the new service year with the use of zoom as the preferred video conf tool. However, there's a strong encouragement for everyone to physically attend the meetings in the hall if possible. Attending meetings via zoom provides a nice alternative for those who developed COVID or show other flu-like symptoms. Also convenient for those who really struggle coming to the hall (disabled, physical problems as a result of high age, etc.). Yet the direction is to come to the hall if you physically can.

We have to remember that, prior to covid, many were already using some sort of phone hookup to get the meetings because they could not attend in person. There is no reason to think that, with the high quality of the Zoom experience over only using a phone that those who cannot attend in person would be sent back to the phone.

In fact, with the organization taking ownership of KHConf and its ability to send video, there was already plans to use video for those who could not attend in person. The instructions on how to set up the KH camera for the Zoom hybrid meeting is not really new - more like "revised" (yes, we had instructions from the Branch on how to set up the camera for KHConf before the pandemic).

Our congregation was using Skype before the pandemic firstly as audio only, as we originally only had 2 phone lines to connect but we needed more connections, thus Skype was the best and cheapest answer. We began slowly transitioning to sharing screen for songs and videos (when Skype implemented this feature) but we had no camera view as the internet speeds was very poor to upload.

Post pandemic, we will use Zoom for it's features leave Skype behind, and we now have a PTZ camera that we need to install on the ceiling (atm it is on a tripod next to the sound box) and we have much better speeds for uploading.

We had MyMeetings for quite a long time. We could not get KHConf due our local phone company. However, around the time the Branch aquired KHConf, they went VOIP and it only needed an Internet connection not a POST like it had been. At that time, we shifted over to KHConf per the Branch recommendation.

We now have Zoom and stream that to KHConf for those who connect with ROKU instead of a computer.

We have no plans to discontinue our present setup
