JEHOVAH IS MY HELPER (Poem)

JEHOVAH IS MY HELPER

When troubles come from every side, and seek to make us low
When illness strikes with sudden force and deals a bitter blow.
When body's frail 'cos we are old, we are forced to rest
God says, "with love I'll carry you, if you just do your best"

When spirit's low & life seems hard, everything goes wrong
When weaknesses are fought each day we don't feel too strong
When we endure with tearfulness, troubles weigh on chest
God says, "with love I'll carry you, if you just do your best"

When we feel burdened down with sin battle with our mind
When we bear brunt of others' schemes and life is not too kind
When we find it hard to carry on because we feel depressed
God says, "with love I'll carry you, if you just do your best"

"I'm looking for the good in you, not for the wrong and sin
I make an estimate of hearts so know the state you're in
I know the motive that is true, that you're made of dust
So when I say "I'll carry you," obey me and have trust".
