The iron and the clay represent governmental authorities and the common people. I usually think of the constant conflicting opinions of the right and the left, democrats and republicans, etc. But our literature often shows it in the form of rioters and protesters coming up against police forces, which is definitely more accurate. Either way, "not open to any agreement" is a sign of the last days - 2 Timothy 3:1-5

I read this article and this princple comes to mind instead....

"If a house becomes divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand." - Mark 3:25

The Republi-cant's certainly can seem to get it together lately.

Daniel 2:41 describes the mixture of iron and clay as one "kingdom", not many.  The clay is referred to as the "the offspring of mankind", or the common people.

In the Anglo-American World Power, people have risen up to claim their rights through civil rights campaigns, labor unions and independence movements.  The common people undermine the ability of the Anglo-American World Power to act with ironlike strength.  Also, opposing ideologies and close election results that do not end up in a clear majority have weakened the power base of even popular leaders, so they have no clear mandate to implement their policies.

Interesting, although China exerts firm control of its population, there was so much opposition to the Zero-covid policy that the government blinked, and reversed itself 180 degrees. China isn't part of the 7th World Power, but it has the same issue with "the offspring of mankind" undermining its authority with mass protests.
