NW Scheduler/Publisher - Updates, Support, and Suggestions

You might try again to send the app data. It sometimes works al little later.
Another option would be the new build update for NWS:  #1444. That may solve some issues.
The reset pin will likely only cause problems for the app data. But in NWS everything should still be there.

I noticed in de new app version 4.0.1. that the Public talk data for the weekend is not showing. I expect that to be the next fix.

There was an issue with restore data from back up but that has been fixed.

I noticed that when I updated my NWP to 4.0 it kept my old 3.9.7 on the device list. I deleted the old one but I also see others that have updated to 4.0 and it's also showing now a duplicate under their name with the 3.9.7 designation.

The public talk speakers names are missing on my NWP even though I've already updated to #1444.

It solved the problem on the tablet, but not on the phone.  Both are on NWP 4.0.1.  Strange.

I refreshed the devices, now only those who updated to version 4 shows.  Only 1 of my devices is showing, despite having it on 2 devices.

In a way, it reminds me a little of how even tools like JW Library are handled — where we’re often encouraged to lean on one another and work through things together rather than expecting direct, individualized support. NWS is paid for commercial software its very different than JW Library. I expect proper support from NWS and I have to say that I have been mostly satisfied with their support. But I do think it should be a little easier. I don't contact them unless I have already tried everything they have suggested on the website. But yet I still have to answer the questions in order to submit a problem. I would double the payment if I could get better, faster support. I don't upgrade right away because I know there are always problems and I don't want to have to contact support.

This exactly. I have expressed as much tactfully in my communications with support when I was not getting any responses for several days for an issue that made the app impossible to access.

Hello everyone.  I'm the original admin for NWS in our congregation and today when we updated to NWS 8.1 we lost al our public witnessing reservations and also no one can reserve a spot using the NWP app (at 4.0.1).  Anyone else experiencing the same issue?  If so, anyone find a fix?

I am too having issues with the new version.  I installed 8.1 and now my publisher app is not able to see anything.  However,  my wife's phone app, which I have not updated, is able to see everything.  But if I make any changes in the Scheduler it does not update her app. Is anyone else having similar issues? Should I go back to an earlier version, as some have suggested?

Have you installed the nw publisher app version 4.0.1 ?
Has all app data been sent to app by the various brothers?

Once I got all the Send App Data sent and it was input we have not had any issues.  We did tell of the brothers to suspend adding and editing until everyone is updated to 8.1.  We only have 2 brothers left.  If you or any other brother tries to add or edit data before every single brother is updated you are almost sure to have some syncing problems.  Once you get NWS stabalized and working correctly then NWP usually corrects itself.

If some brothers have everyone udated and have sent the app data that you were directed to from any popups and something is still not working you might try this. It has worked for us several times in the past and is an old webmaster/developer trick.

Go to the section that is corrupted such as public talks, away periods, duties or whatever it might be.  Simply un-tick a box and tick it again. Or change a brothers assignment and then change it back.  Then Send App Data.  It refreshes the data to replace whatever is in a sense "frozen" as corrupted, incorrect, or missing data.

Most likely no brother with territories edit access has sent app data yet. I suggest asking a brother with territories edit access to send app data.

This doesn’t seem to solve all the issues yet. We are still seeing incorrect displays in the cleaning schedule, as well as in personal tasks and duties

 

Unfortunately, the update is not yet available in the iOS App Store, but we have just tested it on Android in combination with the desktop version #1446.
