Interesting... I haven't found that to be the case personally.

Yes I found many of the friends come up to me and say they didn't know they had a part coming up because that is all they look at the third icon). So I encourage them to also check second calendar icon just to make sure.

"the feature allowing the chairman to read the scheduled announcements by simply tapping on his assignment for that meeting be brought back."

For me that is closer to being useless then nice to have.

1. COBE has to enter his announcements in the NWS when he is most likely more familiar with any text entering programs.

2. The S-147 form has a lot of announcements and the COBE doesn't have to repeat it by entering it in NWS. Our announcements are divided into Branch and Local.

3. Most likely the COBE has on his device a place where he keeps some of the previous announcements or templates for repeated announcements. Just modify and send.

4. Most of our communications are either done in the WhatsApp elders Chat or in the JWPub email section and most prefer to stay in that world.

5. If the chairman changes due to unforeseen circumstances, COBE just forwards the email to the new chairman.

6. Finally, most prefer the copy and paste from familiar programs but especially those who are not tech savvy.

The developers should avoid turning NWS & NWP into a Swiss army knife or they may go the road of Novell. "Novell bought WordPerfect to compete with MS Word, Quattro Pro to compete with Excel, and announced a dizzying array of additional new initiatives."

There's a setting for that, which can be turned off.  I think it's under "Congregation Sharing" at the bottom (going from memory...I'm not home right now).

Jeremy may have been refering to the dropdowwn box in my screenshot. You find that in the first tab of Congregation Sharing - the overview tab. We have it set to "Never" but in the dropdown you can also set it for any 1-12 months.

Thanks, Marky. I had seen that box. It prevents the friends to having to enter all their data again from time to time. It's quite useful, but it's not directly related to changing the password. :)

Jeremy and Marky are correct. "Shared Persons re-verify period" is for Shared Persons in Congregation Sharing. This setting is found on the Congregation Sharing overview page. Shared Persons are elders and MS using NWS or NWS Mobile. It is not for publishers or NWP.

I would like to have a dismiss button next to warnings. My About Me section permanently has a red exclamation sign. Either a brother hasn't connected in several weeks, or someone is lacking a phone number or there is an unassigned local needs talk. Notifications are very useful, but when the red sign is constantly there you no longer pay any attention.

There is no need to dismiss warnings. If you don't want to receive certain warnings you can just turn them off. You should only have alerts ticked for things you do want to be alerted about. If you don't want to be alerted about missing phone numbers, untick the 'Phone' box.

You can also adjust how many months you want to pass before a Shared Person is considered ‘not recently connected’.

Hi everyone! As a member of the NW ITA Telegram channel, I wanted to share some good news: we recently requested that the feature allowing the chairman to read the scheduled announcements by simply tapping on his assignment for that meeting be brought back. In the past, the only option was to print the chairman's program sheet.

Yesterday's update has reintroduced this feature — great news for all of us!

They obviously can't please everyone! A feature making some brothers happy gives others cause for complaint 🙃🙄

Has anyone discovered a solution to the problem of all groups showing as assigned to cleaning every week? On my NWP it only shows this way on the weekend, while midweek shows only the one group that is actually assigned.

Update #14 corrected that for me. I see you are still using #13.

I understand your points but I think that depends on individuals. For some this feature may be useless, for others it may be extremely useful.

IMO it doesn't hurt to have a function to add notes for the meeting chairman. If all brothers know how to use this feature, it can save an exchange of emails or whatsapps. And if the chairman changes for whatever reason, the notes are still there, no need to send the email again.

Sometimes when I am the chairman I find myself reading some announcements from paper, others from my tablet, still others from whatsapp on my phone. I like the idea of keeping them all into one single place.

I appreciate alessandroadorna sharing the information with us and I hope he continues to share information.

Yup, that worked. Thanks! 👏🏻 @Tortuga

I've been skittish about updates the past few weeks because one seems to cause more issues than it solves. 😁

I even advised the brothers to hold off on updating a few weeks ago.

I understand. However, #14 corrected all of the issues I was aware of. I was surprised when #15 came out because I didn't know another update was needed. I didn't see any changes, good or bad, from #15.
