The statistics article "How Many of Jehovah’s Witnesses Are There Worldwide?" states:

"We count as Jehovah’s Witnesses only those who are actively preaching the good news of God’s Kingdom each month. (Matthew 24:14)"

https://www.jw.org/en/jehovahs-witnesses/faq/how-many-jw/

But there are many brothers and sisters who are no longer able to preach. My grandma has preached all her life but she now suffers from alzheimer.

Yet she still is a Jehovah's Witness

Can it be possible for the to add ""We count as active Jehovah’s Witnesses only those who are actively preaching" to the article ? Because it can make it sound like those who can't preach are no longer counted as Jehovah's Witnesses

Jason, I'm sorry to hear about your grandma. That article didn't mean that people in a situation like hers are not considered Jehovah's Witnesses. Of course they are! Jehovah "is not unrighteous so as to forget their work and the love they showed for his name" (Hebrews 6:10). Jehovah doesn't expect more than we can do. If all she can do now is thinking of Jehovah in her moments of lucidity, then he's happy with that.

That article does not deal with the definition of "Jehovah's Witness". Rather, it explains what is counted in those statistics. Those figures count only those who participate in the preaching work and give a report. If you think about it, there is no way to know the number of Jehovah's Witnesses on earth, even approximately. There are many baptized Christians who do not give a report. Some are inactive, others are physically or mentally disabled, others are in prison or isolated somewhere. Jehovah knows who they are, but the there is no way to include them in the statistic.

The article wouldn’t include

the number of witnesses in banned counties either, but it would probably add a lot more to the total.
