Exploration in Paradise

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I really enjoy watching "Voyage of the Continents" on Magellan TV.  It is free as part of Samsung TV+, but when I search my ROKU, It always shows my pay sites.

The reason I enjoy it so much is it makes me think about what the future could be like.  There will always be changes in landscape.  When continents slam together at the fast rate of 15 CM per year (about 6 inches per year), areas that were at sea level become the tops of mountains.  When the Indian plate slammed into the Asian plate the Himalayan mountains were formed over the centuries (millennia, eons ?).  Today the African plate is moving toward the European plate and millions of years in the future the Mediterranean Sea is expected to be replaced by a new mountain range.  There will always be new mountain ranges and other changes in the landscape to visit in paradise.

Waterfalls change due to erosion.  In the future, the present-day waterfalls will have changed significantly.  There will always be new (or changed) waterfalls to visit in paradise.

Just as the Hawaiian Islands were created by lava flow from the bottom of the ocean, there will be new islands formed in the future.  There will always be new islands to visit in paradise.

Traveling will always reveal new things in paradise after millions of years, billions of years, trillions of years for all eternity.

I couldn't edit my post, so I had to submit it partly completed and then go into the edit.

Good point, David. Someone said some time back that there must be limitations as to what we can do for eternity. But then he had forgotten that Jesus, as a human, had a human brain that could contain his onw history 'before the world was'. I don't think we have the slightest idea of our own abilities, but they would appear to be limitless into the eternal future.
