Before he could figure out a place to put the flour, he had to see just how much his grandmother had stored.

When he checked the stash, he discovered the flour was full of weevils and most of the eggs had cracked and gone rancid.

Disheartened, his grandma teary eyed said to George..

[Qapla]

"George, when you leave tomorrow on the star ship for the Antares Star System, how long will you be gone?"

 

[Dolce vita]

- Grandma, what did you eat for lunch? Did you prepare anything with the spoiled flour? Which spaceship are you talking about? It does not exist. Do you have a fever?

(sorry, too many sentences, I forgot)

"I can't hear you", said his grandmother as the phone went dead.

Oh...I forgot to charge my battery, George said.

[Qapla]

Suddenly, all the area immediately around George started to sparkle as he vanished into the sparkle and was beamed aboard the star ship to begin his new adventure.

The audience clapped vigorously when they saw this underhanded trick, as they looked at George who really believed this was happening to him, and the stage was now set for another strange occurrence.

At least he thought he had gone to the shed until he realized he was, actually, in a star ship leaving the earth behind.

How could he possibly go on a trip now and leave his guests behind but he had no choice

Realizing he had no idea how to man a starship, he awkwardly turned the controls around to head back to earth.

However, as he went he sang his favourite song, the Piano Man taught him 'Questions And Plans Lead Away', which is abbreviated to QAPLA for those unaware of the lyrics.

He also thought to himself..."Why can't I finish a task that I start"?

So he sat down and relooked at his ministry presentation, to be given at the next midweek meeting, then suddenly................

George, who had been clearly worried about today's evening plans, finally, actually woke up from these crazy nightmares with a renewed vigor to get things prepared early, because apparently he's under so much pressure from this social event that his subconscious wants him to jump off a cliff if things go wrong or even get abducted by aliens, the latter of which his sober yet introverted mind actually thinks might not be too bad of an idea if it would happen and save him from this evening's social pressure.

"By the way, my mother, uncle, and two nieces are coming tonight too!" called his wife, oblivious she had woken the poor man up.

"Oh great, more pressure," he thought, "doesn't she remember what her mother did to me?"

He looked down at the prosthetic leg he has finally learned to walk with without a clearly discernable limp and recalled how his mother-in-law crushed his leg when she sped into the driveway, pinning him to the garage door, crushing his leg, leading to it needing to be amputated since it was crushed so bad he nearly died.

Knowing how prone she is to accidents such as that, his mind starts racing about all the possibilities that could happen with her there, not to mention that more people means more chance for something to go wrong....

"Let me try and be more positive", even though the thought of dealing with his mother-in-law created major anxiety.

[Qapla]

As he stood, a sharp pain shot through the missing leg, reminding him he still has phantom pains in the missing limb.

His groans of pain are muted by his wife Helena, who has started to vacuum the living room.
