Need Advice

Recommended Posts

I live in Nigeria and have been learning French for more than 10 years now. I can say I am adept at it—I can listen to congregation meetings on stream and radio broadcasts on the internet with it. I can also write online with it with the help of a language tool. I want to go further to help others who speak French learn the truth. But I found that in my territory I can hardly find anyone who wants a bible study in the language.

Can anyone give me suggestions, maybe based on someone's experience or from one of our articles, on how one can use the internet and social media to teach others the truth? I am asking because I know that online many people hardly want to discuss spiritual things unless you have approached them physically on the ground. I don't know. If others can share their experiences with me, what worked for them, and what I can do so that evenings while not working I can reach out to French-speaking people online and spend like an hour or two preaching or teaching online.

please if this is the wrong forum, can the mods push it to the right place? didn't know where to ask this.

thanks. with love

Can you reach out to someone in the French-speaking congregation or group and ask if you can support any letter-writing or telephone witnessing arrangements they have from home, or maybe once a month or something if your schedule permits? Or write to the branch in your area to ask? I remembered there has been some guidance discouraging online witnessing: https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/202015244?q=ministry+online&p=par

If you join them completely, you would not have issue :)

yes. joining them completely would solve all the problems. I would have to consider that by relocating.
Maybe it would have to be the next 1-2 years project while I hand over at my present cong.

thanks

@Dages please I'd like you to advice me. I've been making adjustments to my schedule and work. I think am ready to relocate to a french country in my West African region. Am considering Benin republic or Cote d'Ivoire. But I think the suggestion from the slave is to write first to the branch if one decides to undertake such an adventure. First, am a pioneer, so I'd be killing two birds with one stone - work in a foreign field while expanding my ministry and learn the local culture and language of a french speaking territory so I can possibly be of use to that field in my home country, Nigeria.

I asked my secretary in my congregation if he's aware of any suggestion or direction from the slave about a move like this, but he said he'll check. He's not responded to me. But am positive there is direction on this.
Are you aware, or is anyone aware? Am totally going on my own expenses. Not going to be a burden in any way to the organization, but since I don't know anything about these area, I think I'd need help.
Do you know of any direction? Thanks and good morning. It's 2:55 am here in Lagos, Nigeria.

Nnaemeka, congratulations for your beautiful goals! Whenever you consider moving to serve in an area where there is need, it's recommended to contact the branch that oversees that territory. For example:

*** w03 7/15 p. 20 par. 19 How Should We View People as Jehovah’s Day Approaches? ***
To find out how much need there is in the country to which you are thinking of moving, it is always appropriate to write to the branch office of Jehovah’s Witnesses supervising the preaching work in that area.

Thanks. I was thinking that was the instruction some years ago, but I wanted to be double sure so as not to be acting on my own opinion. I will draft the letter to the Ivorien branch before the weekend. Thanks for the reference.
