I like the old actors and actresses I find it hard to relate to the modern actors

I suppose my influence is from hanging out with my grandparents and parents.

Love the westerns and some of the old musicals..

Gregory Peck, Megan Follows, Julie Andrews, Christopher Plumber, Sally Field, Patty Duke Astin, Kathy Bates, Dustin Hoffman, Pierce Brosnan, Bonnie Hunt, Tom Hanks, Sandra Bullock, Gwenyth Paltrow, Kevin Spacey, Meg Ryan, Helen Hunt, Kate Hudson, and believe it or not, Hugh Grant and Robert Downy Jr., I also think Robin Williams is a brilliant actor but don't think I could stand to be around him as a person for too long!

I don't watch everything these stars do, of course, but if there is a movie with any of those names in it, I'd pause to think about spending time watching if the movie was ok for my conscience.

I enjoy watching Bob hope's films a laugh a minute.

I just ordered a box set of 5 films starring Jacques Tati. He is a real rival to Chaplin (IMO) in his silent comedy. The character he created (M. Hulot) is a wonderful character.

Last year, I saw The Great Dictator for the first time. It was a comedic spoof on Hitler, and was really courageous, because Hitler was still in power when it came out. It was about a humble Jewish person who looked like Hitler, and somehow he was mistaken for him. The climax of the movie was a speech that Charlie Chaplain' character gave to a crowd who thought he was Hitler, and he made some pretty poignant statements.
