How Much Does Facebook Retain?

An Austrian law student wanted to know how much data about him had been stored by the world’s largest social network during his three-year membership, so he requested a copy. Facebook sent him a CD containing 1,222 pages of data. As reported by the German newspaper Der Tagesspiegel, the student said:“Everything had been stored—every message, every chat, including sensitive information about friends.” Included was information that he was sure he had deleted!::o

Is this news to you?

I did hear this recently...that everything a person posts on Facebook remains online-- even if it's been deleted by the individual.

That's why I'm one of the 6 (LOL) people on the planet that still refuse to join Facebook. Somehow I've managed to survive and live my life without joining. Go figure...

I intend to live forever...so far so good. :D

I had a facebook account. I closed it a long time ago and never did put any info on it. I got tired of seeing things the kids at the KH were doing that they should not have been doing so I stopped using it.

For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.

I have a face book account but I rarely use it. I was trying to track some friends. Wanted to catch up with them. I find it hard to use

and From what I have seen Its pretty trashey. I have a gym membership for which I can access on face book I couldn't

find the company,I didn't like it so I don't bother.

"It's a known fact that eighty decibels of rushing water is one of the most pleasing sounds known to mankind. On other hand, ten and a half days at sea is enough water for anybody."

This is not necessarily true. Google+ on the other handed promises a clean sweep once you delete your account. The information in your profiles here, if you remove it, I cannot see it again, ever. Now granted, we're hosted by a company in Texas and we use a mySQL database, but I am pretty sure that with this set up, when it's gone it is gone.
