Joe set about to light the thing.

He was concerned about the attention it might bring.

He struck a match and gave it a light.

The fireball that erupted was incredibly bright

He rolled over and over, to put the fire out.

Forgetting some had cell phones, for his home phone Fred started to run

Reaching the door, he found it would not budge.

So he pressed his hands to a window and gave it a nudge.

After getting inside and making the call, as he passed the kitchen counter, he grabbed the plate of fudge

After eating a few bites his insides felt like sludge.

He decided to pour himself a glass of milk.

And drank it down as smooth as silk

Just then, he thought, "I hope things will turn out well."

That way, they would all have a tale to tell

So he picked up a pen, to write it all down.

His spelling was so bad, he felt like a clown

Then he remembered there was an emergency.

He retreated back into his yared, with urgency.

The brownie and milk demanded regurgency; he felt quite ill.

The poetic meter seems to have been skewed a bit here. There are 16 syllables in this line, Pauline so, here goes:

 

So lying in bed with his dressing gown on he swallowed his pill

He wondered how he got to his bed.
