Just something lighthearted to ponder over ...

Recommended Posts

My father-in-law just turned 91. For someone his age, he looks fairly good ... although no one would confuse him for a young man.

I often get told I look like I am in my 50's or possibly early 60's. I have already passed the 70 mark.

This led us to wonder:

Noah didn't have his sons until he was 500 years old and then he built an ark. He lived to be 950 years old.

Adam began to grow old and die once he was kicked out of the Garden. He lived to be 930 years old.

Here's the question - back when it was normal for men to live several hundred years - at what age did they start "looking" old?

It probably depended on who they married! 😂

Was the for when they 'looked' old . . . or how long they lived?

Confidence isn’t being a walking encyclopedia. It’s trusting you’ll figure it out, even if right now you’re holding the book upside down.

If you drop the zero from their ages to match today's ages, my guess is they started looking old around 700 or so...

Their bodies probably aged slower than what we do today, as our DNA deteriorated over time. As @Tortuga said, their 500's is our 50's. But within today's generation, it could be likened to their 40's.

Abraham, Isaac and Jacob lived well into their mid-100's, and even Moses and Aaron where about 120 when they passed away. So from Noah's time, the aging process has increased in its speed with each following generation.
