With a regular stream of news articles along the lines of: “Asteroid Might Possibly Hit Earth!” I watched a video regarding what could actually be done to blow up or deflect such an asteroid.

Rather than the nations clubbing together to solve the problem it suggested it was more likely a rich nation that was in danger would try to deflect the asteroid just enough to make it some other nation’s problem!

 

One plan is to paint one side of the asteroid black so the solar radiation will cause it deviate from its course.

 

I would hate to see how they would set up their paint trestles, ladders and drop sheets. Imagine if they dropped their paint brush or paint tin? No chance mof them retrieving it.
