Not Sure What To Title This... Sorry.

So I am looking to move to a much larger city than where i'm living. Not just for the benefits but because the apartment i'm living in has mold issues and the landlord isn't doing anything. One of those areas is in Madison, Wisconsin. How would I go about contacting our friends in that area to ask questions about the city and if it's the right move for us? I don't have a car so I can't travel down there to explore things.
