Year 11 prom

Recommended Posts

I'm in the last year and school and soon talk of prom and leavers day will be here. My mum has said that it would be best for me not to go to prom and i haven't heard of many (if any) going to prom in my congregation when they were in the last year at school. She said it's fine to go to the leaver's day (certificates, assembly and photos).

I just wanted to know if anyone went to prom. I don't think it's going to be 'couples dances' or anything like that but i wondered if there is any reasoning or guidance from the bible?

In my opinion it is not the Prom that is the problem, it is the association. I personally did not go but I know others that did and one went on to become a Gilead trained missionary then a Circuit overseer and now serves as a COBE. One needs to examine motivations and associations. How will it affect your relationship with your family, your congregation and most importantly, Jehovah. Have you set forth a goal of pioneering for at least 2 years after graduation? ..... Just my opinion.

We cannot incite if we are not in sight.___Heb.10:24,25

I was thinking along the same line as Lynn.

Hmm a bunch of young, harmonal, non-witnesses together with limited supervision. What could possibly go wrong :lol1:

Plan ahead as if Armageddon will not come in your lifetime, but lead your life as if it will come tomorrow (w 2004 Dec. 1 page 29)
