Yes, each year as far back as I can remember the Pope has called for peace. And yet none comes. He seems very powerless to accomplish anything. They also like to misquote Luke 2:14 - "Glory in the heights above to God, and upon earth peace among men of goodwill."

Instead they say - peace and goodwill to all men. peace only comes to those of goodwill. Those without it don't have peace. Hmm maybe that is why there is less and less peace - less and less goodwill.

It would go a long way if he told all Catholics that going to war was incompatible with being a Christian. Everything else is just same-old; same-old...

If he said that, he may save some lives. Not every Catholic will listen to him, as they mostly haven't regarding birth control, etc.

But if 1/10 of the Catholics stopped killing in war because he said so, imagine how many lives would be saved.
