The Widow of Zarephath....flour and oil

Recommended Posts

If you were the widow of Zarephath and only had Oil, Flour and water............ What would you make for Elijah ? ? ? ? ? She made round cakes, but is that all one can do ?????? Cooking is not my thing so I have always wandered about this. :chef:

I'd make my mom's pie shell recipe. But instead of putting it a pie pan, I'd roll it out flat, then bake it. When done, I'd sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on top while it's still hot. Then break it into small bite size pieces as it cools, and serve it with hot tea for a really yummy dessert!

With these three ingredients The Indians make Naan bread. Make it into dough roll it into a ball then take a portion roll each portion out like you are make pizza.

Then in a pan put a little oil heat & cook till it bubbles

Little & flip do the othr side. Eat with whatever dish you have.

Or you can make a batter with flour. salt & pepper mix some water til all smooth & add fish & light fry.;o)

"It's a known fact that eighty decibels of rushing water is one of the most pleasing sounds known to mankind. On other hand, ten and a half days at sea is enough water for anybody."

Gabe, here in the southern part of the united states, we call that "fry bread"--sort of like tacos for indigenous Indians.

With those ingredients you can also make sopapillas.......white gravy (really need a little pepper and salt, too).......pancakes (unless you think those might be the kind of cakes she made).....and don't forget you can make glue out of flour and water....just thinking of other mcguyver type uses for the GT. :whistling:

....Those who seek Jehovah can understand EVERYTHING......Proverbs 28:5. (The possibilities are endless!)
