A friend likes to go to the theatre. She organized for a few to see it as well as daughters we Watched the original first with Ray Gordan. Then saw the Play. I don't do theatres much this one was good & I was surprised that my girls liked the music.

My last theatre. Was to See the King & I. Was good. Anyone else like the Theatre?

I love the theatre but don't get to go as often as I'd like.

A sister in our congregation organized a trip to see The Mousetrap and that was fun. I saw Chicago and have seen a couple of plays. My real love is opera and my wife and I sometimes go to English National Opera. In June we are seeing the UK premiere of Philip Glass' latest opera The Perfect American (about Walt Disney).

That's how my Mother met my Dad in 1957. Mother was in the girls chorus of Carousel -at one point sitting on the carousel and singing. My Dad was a stage-hand and the carousel was just a wooden prop with no motor to turn it, so my Dad and a few other young guys were lying on their backs underneath pushing the big thing round manually with all the girls singing on the top!  He and his pals were 'fair paggered!' as they say round here when you are tired out!

The perks of the job were asking the girls in the chorus to the dances that went on in the big dance-band halls round Barrow at the weekends in the 1950's. Dad was a medal- winning formation-team ballroom dancer and Mother had been to different kinds of dance classes since she was little. They made a lovely pair on the dance-floor for over 50 years, until Mother's stroke.

Pity I never inherited any of those genes -  "2 left feet and dances stiff as a lampost!!" joked my Dad when he tried to teach me - Cheek!
