Smileys On Ipad

If anyone knows how to get smileys on ipad that can actually show on this forum,

Contact me ASAP!

Ipad has hundreds of smileys and gifs, but they can only be seen by other apple users.

Won't happen. That's internal apple garbage.

 

It's kinda like installing an "emoji" plugin on our Android text messangers. Sure it's cool, but useless unless your friend is using the same program and plugin.

hi Dave I still can't get them on my IPad only on my PC. On the old board I did not have a problem with this function, so it's strange. I use my ipad 98 percent of the time. Thanks for asking.

On the iPad the only real option you have is to use text as the smileys don't show up the same as on the computer. Like you I am mostly using my iPad when using this forum. So if I want to use smileys this is what I do...

Firstly, click on the link below and create a bookmark for this page (this is a list of all the smileys available on JWTalk)...

Then, when composing a message, if you want to add a smiley, add a new tab in your browser and go to the bookmark you just set up. (To add a new tab click on the PLUS sign on the top right hand corner where the tabs are). Now that you've got 2 tabs open you can toggle between them very quickly and easily by simply touching the tab of the page you want to see.

So, as an example using the text for the "unsure" smiley which looks like this... I can either copy and paste the text or just type in the word for the smiley I want and just be sure to put a colon at each end instead of quote marks...

It's important to remember that While you're composing the message it still just looks like text until you press the POST button.

The smileys are simply rendered... a bit like HTML code actually, so they appear as they should in the finished message.

Does that all make sense?
