Paris Jackson A Jw?

Recommended Posts

I looked up the Question, but did not read any of the entire entries. Primarily they all mentioned he disassociated himself, including Wiki. I believe up until  some time early in this Millenium, the announcement was changed to "So and So is no longer one of Jehovah's  Witnesses."  I seem to remember that before that the anoouncement was "So  and So has dissociated him/her-self from the Christian Congregation (?)," or "So and So has been disfellowshipped.............."

I was one of those who loved his music back then. In 1987 around the time of the Bad album being released I had a visit from an elder with a letter. They were very aware of my fascination with him and his music. When the letter was read It was very clear that he had disassociated himself. I still remember stating in reply I liked his music not him. The folly of youth on my part.

That's correct, around ten or twelve years ago the announcement wording was changed...

This doesn't change the situation, of course, that Romans 6:7 states that "He who has died has been acquitted from his sin." This, of course, doesn't mean there is any discharge from sins against the spirit, which might be something seen in the gross sins so publicly committed in conjunction with wiping one's hands of connection with Jehovah's organisation. There is also a scripture somewhere about repeating transgressions that sounds dire, but I can't find that right now.

RE: Michael Jackson

I had assumed he just walked away from us.

His music stayed at the top of the charts, selling millions of cd's, high-grossing concerts, etc. He couldn't obtain all that wealth, that fame, that glory and being elevated to the level of deity while serving Jehovah, could he?   (You cannot serve two gods is what we are taught from the scriptures).  Clearly he made a choice ---and paid dearly for it.  His career had already took him "over the moon" when he walked away from Jehovah.  (No pun intended.)

(Just my 2 cents.)
