ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Recommended Posts

This challenge seems to have gone viral, as things usually do in this digital age.

A sister in our cong mentioned its actually not something we should be involved with, since ALS research involves embryro cells.  Is this true?  I am not a scientist and my work is wanting to do it.

I just heard this myself but have not had time to check into it.

First, you should check the Watchtower Library articles of 9/22/04 and 11/22/02 issues as they explain this topic quite clearly....

I guess you are pointing at the articles "The Choices, the Issues" (9/22/03 page 6) and "Medical Marvel, Ethical Minefield" (11/22/02 page 3) not "Life Under the Big Top" (9/22/04 page 18) or "Mighty Vessels Ready to Help" (11/22/02 page 25)

My Grandma, A pioneer, that drove a purple mustang and exercised at lunch during the break at service.

Was struck at age 62 with this ALS, She had broken her leg and was quickly diagnosed with ALS and passed away in 6 months.

That was 1978.  I remember the brothers and sisters all helping her so much.

Her mind stayed active until her last breath.

I hope to give her a hug in Gods New system of things.

This is a good website for people with ALS or want to know more about it. They are fighting this disease with proven vitamins, minerals,  herbs and other products. One of the protocols is called Deanna's protocol. A doctor's daughter, Deanna,  has been fighting ALS for a few years now and he put all his energy and knowledge into creating this protocol to help all sufferers of ALS.

  • 2 years later...

I remember the Ice Bucket challenge craze. I was going to take part in my ignorance until on the ministry one day I was informed by a few brothers that we shouldn't. Not only because it supported abortions  but it was also spiritistic. A Satantic baptism as it were. There was an ancient goddess who would pour water over the heads of her worshippers and herself, pictures and statues depict her doing this from a bowl. Strangely, the worship also included infant and baby sacrifice, possibly at the same time of the baptism practice/pouring water on one's self.  Don't know if anyone else heard about this though.

So we have research done by the means of abortions, and pouring water over one's self in support of the research...
