Today we heard about a murdered in a small town near we lived. All the news are saying that she was a JW.  It is a sad story.

"Brenda Arnoletto, a 24-year-old neighbor of the Jehovah's Witnesses religion, was murdered in a construction site with signs of being sexually abused. The parents went to sleep around 23 and the girl had not returned home, but they have full confidence in her because she is a Jehovah's Witness, she does not go out and go to bed early"

I've been trying to figure out the details but google translate isn't doing such a good job.

I found a facebook group demanding justice for Brenda Arnoletto. Who is instrumentalizing this, and why? What is going on over there, and what happened?

Any more detailed information would be appreciated.

Another one! As sad as this is, what can we do to keep these things from happening to our dear ones?

It is always a good idea to be aware of our surroundings. There is also nothing unbiblical about carrying a non-lethal defense item (pepper mace if legally allowed, alarm etc.) or knowing a few self-defense techniques.

I've never been able to understand  the "I put my trust in Jehovah" mentality in these regards because when these things do happen, we are confronted with the hard fact that not everything is a consequence of our actions and Jehovah or direct influence by Satan but time and unseen occurence. Think of the Lillelid murders, wrong place, wrong time, almost an entire family wiped out while being in field service.
