Re-The elderly sister with the very old pc not able to get zoom now.... maybe someone could install Linux os on her pc, the Zoom client is now available for Linux

Also, remember that it’s often easier to use an external mouse with your pc for hands up and unmuting etc if pc a comfortable distance away 😃

Quick tip for those using a PC is to connect an external mouse, it is much easier to raise hand and unmute etc 😃

I certainly do, Nathan and Claire are in Glasgow Craigton Congregation, and Nathan’s mum and dad are in Girvan Cong, I pioneered with his dad, Eric for a few years at Rothesay Cong on the Isle of Bute , there were 7 publishers in that Cong when we were there , I understand that Nathan gave a public talk to a German Cong recently using Zoom ..😃

Dear Sister, I am in Ayr Scotland and perhaps I can help you with this : Your student is on Android device so there are a few things we can check : 1. Make sure volume control on her tablet is turned up full and nothing is obscuring her mic or speaker eg the casing. 2. Check not in aircraft or driving mode eg headphones on bluetooth. 3. Check device sound volume settings for all categories. 4. On Zoom waiting for host screen, click on test audio link if option shown. 5. Test audio using another app eg google search to test mic and speaker. 6. On Zoom ensure click “ join with audio “ and “ join with internet audio” or “ use device audio” I hope some of this has been of some help. Best wishes,

In addition, to make it easier for you, once you have found zoom on the program list as per above, if you RIGHT click on the zoom icon you can create a shortcut on the task bar or start menu 😃

To get Zoom on your PC running windows 10, I suggest easiest way is to go to google and search for " zoom cloud meetings " locate the entry from zoom ( ignore all others ) that says " download centre " download and install , when asked " run or save " I select " save" then go to your downloads folder " view downloads" and install the installation file which is highlighted. Open zoom and select " join a meeting " enter the meeting Id number followed by the meeting password and " join"...enjoy !

Dear Bros, we are in the UK and most congregations are now using the zoom cloud meetings app for all meetings including meetings for field service, we have our circuit visit this week complete with morning meetings for field service. Our meeting attendances have gone up, some elderly ones are now enjoying seeing their brothers again as well as hearing them also some who left are coming back to the truth. Our brothers are using various devices, iPad, android, pc, imac, and dial up, most connect video and.sound but a few connect without video, however they can still see everyone and comment if they wish. In addition, bros and sisters sometimes meet in groups to discuss day text or sharing experiences or just for fun with quiz. Here in the UK we are not allowed to cold call people by letter or phone or to record details of calls or not at homes without their permission. Jehovah is using this situation to his advantage though and we are being trained to make greater use of on-line witnessing and drawn closer in love to one another.

Noah..how did you get the tar underneath the ark ? and...what was the hygiene routine for dealing with all the body wastes from the large animals on lower deck ?

To be honest, yes I was initially very cautious, because the GB has repeatedly advised great caution on such matters including some internal chat forums...however I have found this one to be most encouraging and properly managed..thank you. 😊

Noah's reply...Oh that's simple brother, we first measured the timber and cut to size then coated it all in bitumen as Jehovah directed, allowed it to dry and then built the base first then doing the same for all external timbers..this ensured that even the joints were sealed..😊

Has anyone had experience of Hourglass Software ? I have just received an e.mail from our cong secretary inviting me to install this programme which apparently has electronic publisher record cards and enables publishers to send monthly reports electronically, I am suspicious of anything which is not provided by the faithful slave ! one more point to consider is that some mobile networks set a limit to number of contacts they permit for group texts eg 28, whereas Whatsapp allows much larger groups., we use WhatsApp for literature cart shifts if anyone needs to get temporary help to cover their shift. works well !

I love that expression "toolbox" 2 Tim 3:16 ..." Completely equipped for every good work"...imagine getting a gift of a complete toolbox...but in order to use it effectively, we first have to find out what it contains and how to use some of the specialist tools...so with us..we need to examine each item carefully so as to be able to use it effectively...I think we"ll be hearing a LOT more about the on-line teaching aid in the days to come, maybe a special door drop campaign to every home so no-one can say they didn't know. ( just thinking out loud ) 😎

Yes, If you look up WT On-Line Library under the heading “Telephone Witnessing” you will find much helpful guidance on this, one of the references is to a Kingdom Ministry article Jan 2010 pages 5 and 6 ( km 1/10 5-6 ) including some sample scripts you could use. There are 6 references under the subheading “what to say” , incidentally some of these could also be used for intercoms on door-entry systems.

reminds me a bit of the increased urgency in early 70's with the truth book when we used it to conduct bible studies for 6 months, and if the student hadn't progressed by then, we stopped the study and moved on. ! 😎
