  1. Time travel is real, but not in the way science fiction makes it out to be. It’s based on physics — specifically, Einstein’s theory of relativity. The faster you move, the slower time passes for you compared to someone who’s standing still. So technically, traveling into the future is possible. Traveling back in time, however, isn’t. According to physics, it would require infinite energy, which makes it impossible for humans or even demons to accomplish. Jehovah, being almighty, wouldn’t be limited by that — but we certainly are. In fact, we experience a tiny form of time travel every day without realizing it. Our phones rely on satellites orbiting Earth at around 8,700 mph, and those satellites experience time dilation — their clocks tick about 38 microseconds faster per day than clocks on Earth. Because of this, programmers have to correct for the time difference on both the satellites and our phones. It may not sound impressive, but it’s real, measurable time travel. If humans could ever travel at or near the speed of light, we’d experience extreme time dilation — effectively jumping into the future. But again, going backward in time would require energy beyond anything we can ever generate. So while forward time travel is possible and already happening in small ways, backward time travel is out of reach — at least for us.
  2. Tortuga says, "I’ll make it clear, I’m not posting, don’t you fear. But if you’d like to take a look, Here’s the link, come take the hook." No need for posts, no need to share, Just a simple link, if you dare. A quiet gesture, no need to shout, But here’s the way, if you’re about!
  3. DNA companies are doing very unethical things with peoples DNA. Your insurance provider can deny you based on DNA markers that can be found when you do these DNA test. I wanted to check my genealogy years ago, and I feel like I was protected from submitting to DNA test thanks to 1 Timothy 1:4. It's not that it is bad to know your genealogy but you can see how it can lead to assumptions about yourself. I am interested in know more about myself, but I am thankful that I never did this as 23andme, and ancestry are doing alot of unethical things with your DNA. I Timothy 1:4 nor to pay attention to false stories+ and to genealogies. Such things end up in nothing useful+ but merely give rise to speculations rather than providing anything from God in connection with faith
  4. Thank you. I watched some videos on youtube but I wanted to see real reactions from brothers and sister. Most of these videos are done by realtors trying to sell houses. So I take them with a grain of salt.
  5. Hey everyone, I have the opportunity to move to Chattanooga, Tennessee for work, and I'm curious to learn more about the area. For those of you familiar with the city, I’d appreciate any insights on the following: - How are the congregations in the area (both English and Spanish)? - What’s the entertainment scene like? Any recommendations for things to do? - How are the people there? Is it a welcoming community? - What’s the crime situation like? Any advice or thoughts you can share would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!
  6. I fear the day they use AI to fake governing body videos
  7. It's a great show but I feel like they pull punches with the royal family. Like they made Prince Phillips infidelity a throw away line, but then went super hard on the Kennedy's. This show has made me think about the Great Tribulation. I wonder what will happen when the nations go against religion. Royalty is the earthly representation of the church but they are also political in nature. They act like they do not get involved with politics yet they meet with all of the prime ministers and give them advice. That doesn't seem very separated to me. So I wonder will royalty renounce religion, or will governments turn against royalty, kicking them out of their castles and taking their money? It is super interesting, and I can't wait and see how that plays out.
  8. I only have the base game. We want to get an expansion soon. We did buy custom resource holders for it.
  9. My wife and I play Everdell. You play one of four anamorphic animal species. The goal is to create the best city. You have 4 seasons to build the best city. So the game doesn't go for too long. It allows 1 - 4 players. (you can even play solo if you like, but I always play with my wife)
  10. I wonder if you wrote to the branch if they would give an update.
  11. Last night a sister called my wife, this sister's mother is currently in the hospital. She had asked an elder in our hall if he could drop off some medical equipment to her mother. She needed it before 8am today. This elder however lives about 20 minutes away from the sister and the hospital is located another 15 minutes after from them in the downtown area. The sister felt bad because it would take about 1 1/2 away from him just to do this favor. I work in the downtown area and live just a few blocks away from them. Because of this, the sister asked my wife if I could do it instead. She was very embarrassed asking us for this favor. My wife asked me and I said yes I could do it. It would put me out a little, I would need to leave work 20 minutes earlier than usual, and my wife would need to walk the dog (my responsibility) but honestly I did it because it was the Christian thing to do. I wasn't bothered by it, but I really only did it because I felt I had to do it as a good follower of Christ. The morning came and I woke up early and drove to the hospital. I dropped off the medical equipment and got back in the car. As I turned the car on, I was filled with an enormous amount of joy. I just felt great. I start thinking about how if we follow Jehovah how he rewards us. I started thinking about the scripture "there is more joy in giving than in receiving". I felt happy and proud to be a part of Jehovah's organization. It even strengthened my faith a little. I just wanted to share this, as I have felt soo good all morning.
  12. I am waiting for some to grow it first. We have 2 elders and 2 MS growing it as we speak. I will be chairman in January, so I want to wait till then before I grow mines. I don't want to be chair with a baby beard, so I will shave in the meantime. Hopefully, by then the excitement will die down
  13. So I found something. Leviticus 19:27 “‘You must not shave* the hair on the side of your head* or disfigure the edges of your beard. The note for "the hair on the side of your head*" says *Or “cut your sidelocks.” Does this mean no for goatees?
  14. Last assembly there was guy dressed in a suit with a beard sitting in front of us. We saw that he was sitting with a brother who had a talk. So my wife started up a conversation with him thinking he was a study. Turns out he was a brother. I guess there will be more encounters like that in the future.
  15. In my last hall there was a brother who started having deep depression and anxiety due to covid. He grew a beard because he said he needed to hide his face due to the anxiety. When we came back to hall he finally shaved.
  16. I like how he said, we are gonna see bethilites, pioneers, special pioneers. It was kinda like "This is happening"
  17. They better stop monkeying around and settle their argument, or the gorilla will go ape on both of them
  18. I would really like it if they produced their own software for this, but I understand that it is a huge undertaking. Additionally I think they only focus on software that pushes the preaching work. ie. JWL and MEPS. However, there is a clear need for scheduling software's to exist.
  19. I feel that AI is definitely going to disrupt the world. This will change the world the same way the wheel, printing press, factories, television, and internet did. The problem is that with previous technologies, they created opportunities and because of it, new industries were created. ie. more jobs. AI is a disruptive technology. It will wipe out certain work sectors and the opportunities it creates will be limited and smaller in scale. However, I don't see AI as a bad thing. See in this system of things, it is horrendous, because we need to work here due to our dependence on money. So any technology that takes away someone's ability to make money is bad. However in the new system of things, I think AI will be great. It will allow us to focus on pure worship. We won't be stuck in a job doing a mindless task when we can instead automate that task or function. We can spend our time doing things we enjoy.
