Retired through ill-health after heart problems and complications after 4-bypass surgery in 1996 (aged 46) but managed to pioneer for just over 2 years, and was able to serve for a while in foreign-language ministry.

My last job was in electrical wholesale.

My wife now keeps me in the manner to which I have become accustomed! She is a phlebotomist and health care worker.

My first job was working at an Orange Juice factory, but got canned I couldn't concentrate.

Then I worked in the woods as a Lumber Jack, but I couldn't hack it, so they gave me the axe.

After that, I tried to be a Tailor, but I just wasn't suited for it- mainly because it was a sew-sew job.

Next, I tried working in a Muffler Factory, but that was to exhausting.

Then, I tried to be a Chef figured it would add a little spice to my life, but I just didn't have the thyme.

I attempted to be a Deli Work, but any way I sliced it I couldn't cut the mustard.

My best job was a Musician, but eventually I found I wasn't noteworthy.

I studied a long time to become a Doctor, but I didn't have any patience.

Next, was a job in a Shoe Factory, I tried but I just didn't fit in.

I became a Professional Fisherman, but discovered that I couldn't live on my net income.

I managed to get a good job working for a Pool Maintenance Company but the work was to draining.

So then I got a job in a Workout Center, but they said I wasn't fit for the job.

After many years of trying to find steady work, I finally got a job as a Historian until I realized there was no future in it.

My last job was working in Starbucks, but I had to quit because it was always the same old grind.

No I hope you are all LOL.

I work as a Painter/ Paper hanger at the MGM Grand Hotel, in Las Vegas, NV.

I shared these with my brother because I knew he would get a big kick out of them. He came right back with:

This reminds me of why I quit my job at the casino. Yes, the chips were down. Then I quit my job at the laundry mat. You guessed it, I was all washed up!

That is wonderful.. someone asked my granddaughter what did she want to do for a living and she said Pioneer! I thought that was the best answer she could ever give.. (<img src=)'> she is 16 and a regular axillary pioneer. If Jehovah wills she will one day Pioneer for a living.

I am a notary public and a document signing agent. I work in all different areas of life, from Real Estate to Hospitals, to assisted living residential. I was a Financial Aid Technician for 15 years and could not STAND being confined to a cubicle. I absolutely LOVE what I do!

The question for me is more like what do I not do...LOL

Former wholesale nursery manager, corporate and private Web developer, web master, literary magazine editor, Landscape Contractor, Illustrator (books, magazines, newspapers, newsletters, t-shirts, cards, zines), Syndicated cartoonist and local publications cartoonist/illustrator, plant propagator, writer, art and cartooning instructor, truck driver, janitor and house cleaner, wild seed collector, University lecturer (computer science subjects), truck dispatcher, landscape inspector, art lecturer to local service clubs, outside nursery sales etc etc etc. It does get a bit confusing sometimes...

Part-time job : receptionist.

So i have a lot of time in the "field".

But as my wife is now pregnant, this year is may be the last as a regular pioneer... these were the best years of my life.

Put it before Jehovah. We've known several couples that continue to regular pioneer after having kids. For us, those pioneer families have been super encouraging. Congratulations on the new pioneer in the womb!

Just curious and makes for a liesurely general topic.

I am a tile and marble setter by trade, and sometimes that translates into complete kitchen and bath remodeling. I am grouting a backsplash today, but am letting my helper do most of the work while I play on the computer ;). About to go to the Home Depot for something in a moment though.

For 10 years I have actually really enjoyed what I do. But this last year I saw my first knee trouble, and currently am trying to deal with some tendonitis in my elbow. I am wondering if it is time to think about a career change of sorts.

So, what do you do for a living?

I handle the national franchise development for a large corporation in Minneapolis, MN. We are in the collision business - kind of the McDonald's of the collision industry. Our goal is to set up over 12 new collision centers/yearly - adding two more each year. Specifically, my role is to speak with the owner of every auto dealership across the US, building relationships with them and explaining our value proposition. Frequently, auto dealerships have body shops, and ideally, their body shop becomes branded with our name. My career has been in franchising and I was a franchise broker for years before accepting this position.

I have an office but have not been in it for over 2 years - I office out of my home. They force me to go to a AZ resort every year :raspberry: and I also have to go to conventions - NADA (National Auto Dealers Assoc) next month in San Francisco and, new store grand openings. Many of the friends have difficult jobs. I have the opposite, an insanely difficult home life but, the job couldn't be better. It is a professional environment so everyone is well dressed, well behaved and, all are extremely polite - although they are not brothers & sisters, it is quite the difference from the general "world."

(Deuteronomy 28:3)  “Blessed you will be in the city, and blessed you will be in the field.

Being blessed by Jehovah is not contingent on location, assignment or circumstances.

I would like something like that.

In construction, I get dirty and wear dirty clothes. I've developed a knee problem over summer and tendonitis in my elbow about 2 weeks ago in my dominant arm. The shoulder on the other side is bothering me too. I never thought I would be complaining about such things ever!

I am really thinking about a career change, school, something!

> Where I work at MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, my area is what is called the Skylofts and we too are in a professional environment.

> As to dress I am about the only painter/paper hanger I would say in the world that wears black, even painters in China wear white.

But it is a good job the work is not hard, my boss and lead are easy to get along with

We get no holidays off, but we have what is called flex time we get 7.5 hours every 2 weeks, and can take just one day or all of it really nice.

As a painter I too have been to conventions such as SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) and NACE International Auto body Congress and Exposition, which is paint and body for cars, and SEMA is any thing they have for cars is there, if your a car guy like me you'd love it..

I too have been a couple of things. I have waitressed, worked and managed a convienent store, working in a couple of sewing factories. (shoe factory in Illinois, hat factory in St.Louis, Lee Jean factory in Alabama) then I became a police fire and ambulance dispatcher, now I am a 9-1-1 dispatcher which has a few hats w/that) we work 12 hour days 48 hours one week and 36 the next week.

I am also a notary public that I use for work. I am hoping to retire at 59 1/2 if we're still in this system and go back on the pioneer list. I really do miss that. So for those of you that are pioneering in some way, Be Happy!!!!! I'm jealous!

Deebee your job sounds like it would be fun. What exactly is a document signer?
