We remember what we deem as important.

for me it's easy to remember their names

because I feel it important to 'know' them best I can.

especially while they are still with us.  :crush:

its part of 'being obedient and submissive

to those taking the lead among you' ~ Heb 13:17

At that time those who fear Jehovah spoke with one another, each one with his companion,

and Jehovah kept paying attention and listening..." ~ Malachi 3:16

I'm glad someone else feels like I do Stuart. I have a hard enough time trying to remember all the friends at my KH. Maybe when I'm perfect, if I make it, I'll be better at remembering names. Faces..............I almost never forget.

For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.

It was nice to see our brothers faces and to match their names.

I enjoyed listening to them speak. .they were warm.

"It's a known fact that eighty decibels of rushing water is one of the most pleasing sounds known to mankind. On other hand, ten and a half days at sea is enough water for anybody."

It was such a wonderful annual meeting and to put the names to faces was outstanding. These most likely will be the last ones of the faithful and discreet slave before the tribulation and we won't see them anymore in their fleshly form, to me it is awe-inspiring to think about and a little sad too but we are so grateful for their hardwork and self sacrifice to give us the food at the proper time. And what marvelous food they gave us, it was better than I had imagined when everyone was supposing what would be. You can go to the door with this and have a presentation ready, right there, without the use of anything else. They have made witnessing and gaining knowledge and having our knowledge at hand so much easier than ever before. I love them so dearly for their eagerness to keep us fed spiritually and when Jehovah asked "who will do this" they said "we will"!

When had the CO & DO visit the congregation. At the congregation Bible study the DO named all our GB brother by name as he commented on the picture on lesson 20 helping us appreciate that these brothers are real and exists in our time not just in the first century as they were 8 as well

I'm with stuagu on this.  I have been attending meetings from a newborn in the 1970s and I have never considered the profile of individual members of the GB to be as high as it has been over the past couple of years.  I think the primary reason is that thanks to jw.org and the various videos we have had over recent times we are all much more used to seeing them. I think the change in the understanding of the F&DS also has had an impact, albeit less so.  Five years ago I probably couldn't have told you how many brothers were on the GB let alone all their names off the top of my head - now, it's a different story.

I personally find that something doesn't feel quite right when I see scenes like in one of recent Warwick videos where members of the GB addressed the workers there and then had crowds of brothers and sisters around them taking photos in a manner similar to when you see the public crowded around a celebrity.  I am not trying to infer that this is the desire or in the intent of the GB members and if they are happy with that then fine - it just makes me cringe a bit.

I liked the picture in the recent WT of the GB member sitting in the meeting, listening to the comments being made.  He was there to encourage and be encouraged.  I am sure the brothers and sisters don't keep going up and getting photos after the meeting.

Clearly the GB members are deserving of our utmost respect and appreciation but they are still men - brothers trying do the best they can whilst being subject to sin.

Maybe it's just me and stuagu that are strange!

I must be strange too, then! Totally agree with you.

How do you get those .. over the top of the o?

The keyboards in Germany already have the ö ü ä on them.

On my iPad I can get it by holding down on the letter. Maybe it's the same with android tablets?

For the computer, google "Alt key codes" For example ö you get by holding down the Alt key and then type 0246
