I have been getting back into one of my Hobbies. gardening. & am loving it.

for the first time nothing is dying,

well we are having good weather & loads of rain.

I love Basil & it starts out great then a white moth will come & love it also.

So I am wanting any suggestions to try so this moth doesn't keep coming back. I did see on better homes & gardens a tip to paint eggshells & stick them on paddle pop sticks,

I am also trying a compounding style of garden. plant say marrigolds with parsley,, I am not into sprays as the kids like to sometimes help themselves to the strawberries.

so any suggestions would be awesome thanks.

I assume those green caterpillars become those blasted white moths.  If you ever find out how to deal with them, Gabe, please let us know!  I'm sprinkling crushed eggshells around my Comfrey plants to hopefully slice them to shreds. Plants are going dormant here now so time will tell.  (feeling guilty for murderous thoughts against the caterpillars)

Can you make a wire frame and cover with a fine netting from the fabric/sewing store.

Just checked my 'Companion Planting' book, and Basil loves tomatoes, asparagus and parsley.   Doesnt like rue and sage.  Keeping pots of basil on outdoor tables or window-sills is supposed to keep house flies away.  Try searching online for good or bad companion plants - it really does work.

I read somewhere too that if you put some penny's in a plastic bag with water in it will make the fly's leave. Not sure why. Google it.

For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.
