Need help with wallpaper for ipad

I have a couple of pictures on my camera roll on my ipad that have the yeartext at the top, and I'd like to use one as the wallpaper on my ipad, but the pics are too big, and won't go on small enough.  I can't even get the picture to show the yeartext at the top no matter if I try moving picture.  Not the most technologically advanced person here, so any help would be appreciated.  (is my first tablet, relatively new and still getting  used to it)  Is there any way of changing the size of the picture so it will fit?

Hi Jeff,

I don't know what you have tried, but in Settings, choose wallpapers and camera roll. Then select the picture you want to use. You can scale and move the picture before locking it as home screen or lock screen (or both).

If you've tried this already, perhaps you could crop the picture in photos, then try it.

I can't help you with iPad, but if you can download the pictures to a computer first, this free program is very easy to use to "resize" them. Then you can upload them back to your iPad or email them to yourself.

You can also use Irfanview to resize photos, change format, enhance & crop, etc.  I recommend installing the plugins too. It is still free -even M$$ uses it.
