What is space

After watching this video I was compelled to give a witness in the form of a video comment.

@5:42 ... Over 2,500 years the prophet Isaiah was inspired by Jehovah God to write these words: "There is One who dwells above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers. He is stretching out the heavens like a fine gauze, And he spreads them out like a tent to dwell in." (Isaiah 40:22) 

 

Think about how much scientific information is contained in this one verse.

 

1. "the circle of the earth". Only within the last 60 years has mankind has been able to see with their own eyes that the earth is indeed a circle. A thousand years earlier Jehovah God told Job that he is "hanging the earth upon nothing", in other words the earth sits in space. (Job 26:7)

2. "inhabitants are like grasshoppers". For a long time humans thought they were the center of the known universe; or at the very least the center of the solar system. Within the last few decades these words ring true and shows how insignificant we truly are when compared to vast cosmos.

3. "the heavens like a fine gauze". With simple words Jehovah God revealed to his humble prophet thousands of years ago what many scientists now consider scientific orthodoxy: that empty space is indeed a fine gauze and that it is filled with an abundant of mathematical properties endowed by our loving Creator.

4. "he spreads them out like a tent to dwell in." This shows how immense and powerful Jehovah God is. The universe is liken to a tent that he lives in. At the inauguration of the Solomon's temple in prayer Solomon stated, "Look! The heavens, yes, the heaven of the heavens, themselves cannot contain you; how much less, then, this house that I have built!" (1 Kings 8:27) Truly Jehovah God's power is awesome.

The bible is not a scientific textbook but when it speaks from a scientific standpoint its words are as true today as they were the day they were written.

 Not only we live in space, also we live in light cones. When we see the stars in the sky we see the past. What is interesting there are future light cones, yet it is there, but we haven't reach it yet. Is this mind boogling?
