Well it was bound to come down this when you actively "soften" the words of the bible in order to attract people. Now they are realizing that it opens them up to this sort of unwanted changes.

In fact, the churches and "religious" people that complain about homosexuality still, for the most part, accept heterosexual acts outside of marriage.  Strain the gnat while gulping down the camel.

That's the thing...when you start to lose focus and adopt an all inclusive (sort of) stance on smaller things, you fail to see the huge tidal wave coming with things you didn't want to accept. So, as morals loosen towards heterosexuals and sexual immorality of all forms, it was eventually bound to happen that they find themselves with zero justification for not accepting homosexuals. Kinda hard to use the bible as your standard when you participate in many other things that are clearly in the bible as wrong - idol worship, murder, adultery, etc.

It will be interesting to see because it seems that the entanglement between government and church WILL be tested as I think the litigious attitudes will lead to any variety of lawsuits in the near future. The US government has already started to push back against those who actively discriminate against homosexuals, so it's not hard to see them trying to go after churches.

Yes! They let them in every Sunday for confession so they can get right back at it the rest of the week!
