Something that's been happening alot lately are Earthquakes. Not long ago this morning (for us) a 6.4 quake struck Canterbury and more are happening.

Some householders are saying that these natural disasters aren't coming up more frequently, however we hear nearly a large natural disaster every three weeks. Truly, we are living in the last days. Yet that should make us even more happy that we are still serving Jehovah whole-souled and whole-heartedly, wether it be attending meetings or going out on the ministry.

To quote the latest Become Jehovah's Friend Song on jw.org, "our service to God we cherish."

We don't have T.V. at the moment Brother Ray, so we have missed that news item. 6.4? That's getting up there again. When we went to Dunedin in October for the Convention we stayed a while in Christchurch ... what really hit home to me was EVERY SECOND or maybe even more buildings had at least a devastating crack through it somewhere. I don't think the rest of NZ understands what Christchurch went through.  We certainly don't want anymore in that area or any area really.

There was a sadness about Christchurch ... but that sadness is reiterated around the world daily ... we sooo need Jehovah's new Kingdom.  It's getting more and more difficult to live in this system each day.

Thanks for posting that.

Yes Allabord4ja - quite a few I see and shallow ones at that - 5 km some of them. Thank goodness they are under 3.0 or there would be damage. Hope they don't get any bigger.

Honestly for those who have not been through a large earthquake (6.0 or greater) you don't want to.

We have had earthquakes in our area where the trees were dancing and the window glass was swaying in and out. Those were nothing compared with what Christchurch has been through, years later

there are still people living in their backyards because they can't live in their houses, there are houses and flats still without proper sewage due to insurance claims being slow to settle.

This is in a developed country. I can't even begin to understand what the brothers and sisters in Haiti went through. My heart breaks for them. Then of course Japan. Never before in history has creation groaned so much and so many innocent people have suffered. Thank you to Jehovah for being 'good' ... because of that ... we don't have long to wait for relief.
