I like spicy food and hot curry but cannot handle anything hotter than a hot Madras curry! I could manage vindaloo, but to be quite frank, I don't care for the flavour.

England does have a plethora of Indian restaurants (I live close to Southall which is a high density Indian population). My local halal butcher sells tandoori chicken madras which is excellent, and great value at £6.99 per kilo. He also sells goat meat - great for curries. My wife makes her own spice mix for our home-made curries - I am rubbish at making them!

The closest thing I'll come to being able to taste Indian food where I live is from the grocery freezer.  Sad.
