Hey everyone, I'm helping this brother out and wonder if there is a way to download JW Library windows 8 file, transfer it onto a USB then install it onto his windows 8 computer. I do not have windows 8, but wondering if it's possible for someone to send me the installation file. From there I could install it onto his computer. He can't get Wi-Fi or internet on his computer so we're trying to add JW Library (not Watchtower, already installed that through disc.) Can anyone help?

Windows apps can (like JW Library) can only be downloaded and installed directly from the Windows Store onto the computer or tablet you are using - No installation file that can be copied onto a usb stick.  So if he has no internet connection, you will need to take the computer to somewhere where you can connect, (your place, the kingdom hall) connect and install from there.

Windows phone as an option to download the xap file to an SD card and then install from there... Can't try that right now but will search for it

The jw library needs internet access to download various publication, videos, etc.

The win 8 app now works on win 10 build 10061 with update from April 27/15

Consciousness, that annoying time between naps!

I was able to download the xap file and transfer it to a USB stick. I will test it out later today. However I fear that he won't be able to download the publications as the xap file only has stored the Bible and default publications. Trikey buisness.

@jayrtom : no need to be so complicated ... install your µ-sd and "accept" wp8.1 to use it as a default download location for the next applications you will install from the windows store.

So, if you have already installed jw.library before your µ-sd, uninstall and install it after you declare your new µ-sd card
