Carlos America, is only not racist in name, not in deed. There is little ways that racism is still alive and well here, and knowing the color of your skin is a way to continue it. 

 

If you live in a poor black/hispanic neighborhood, you will not get proper grocery stores, you will have more like a gas station, or I don't know what you would call it in Spain, but not a real grocery store, they are called bodegas here... it's very tiny, very limited, to mainly things that can be stored on shelves for long periods of time, not fresh/healthy foods. My mom's neighborhood has went to that. When I was growing up there was approximately 10 grocery stores in the neighborhood. (with in a 2 mile radius). I was just there tonight, and looking around at all the broken down, stores, there is now only one grocery store in the area-for more like a 10 mile or more area now, not just 2 mile. The other places, are bodegas, and pay day loans (might as well call them loan sharks), liquor stores, etc. now. Grocery stores even want your race when they do surveys here... and yes... they close them down in the poor black/hispanic neighborhoods... it's a way of control, and racism at it's root... stop the food flow, and you stop the health of the community.. and kill them slowly. These two races have the most diabetes, and heart disease. Not to mention the Native Americans, who have been shoved to unlivable lands, where nothing grows, and the lands the white man didn't want. No jobs, no money coming in, living in shacks, in out and out poverty... liquor stores, etc... and then people condemn because they have brought in casinos to make money on these lands... in areas that are desperately needing drug/alcohol and gambling intervention. Not to mention also needing healthy foods, as they have been given junk to eat as a subsidy for their land. So they are also in the lead with the hispanics and blacks as the top three races here for diabetes, and heart disease. Mainly diet related.

 

When I lived in NYC, I had to travel to Long Island (not one of the borrows of NYC) to go to healthy grocery stores, there was a couple in brooklyn and queens, but not much. Most people didn't have the luxury of traveling that far for food. And their drs would send them home with "diets" for their health needs, and they would be like, exactly where are we to get these foods? They are not sold in our neighborhoods! Especially in Manhattan, in say Harlem-majority black and hispanic. Mt. Sinea Hospital, and the Apollo Theater are working on the issue. But, seriously the racism is so deep in the USA, it will take the new system to cure this problem.

Skip the post above,computer problems. And you right on this sis. And it goes even deeper. If you have a small black community that sells booze everywhere and have all the black leaders give them the permit to do this, then something is really wrong.

So it is said a woman lied about her race, saying she was black but is really white.

Frankly, I don't care either way actually because there is no man organization that can solve race problem.

However, what I find utterly disgusting is how much hatred there is for one race. Here they had/have a woman in a leadership position yet they're in an uproar because she's really white? Evidently their hatred is that deep that they'll rather concentrate on that instead of her qualifications.

Hi Sister Luezette. I understand your feelings, but keep in mind this is the world's problems which is ultimately all part of Satan's system of things. All the things people do in this world is completely irrelevant to who we are as a people and who we support and what our hope for the future is. The world is absolutely DROWNING in problems such as injustice, racism and lying. But we, Jehovah's people, are free from such woes. Because Jehovah is good and he cares for us!

 

The long and short is don't worry about Satan's world because it's not going to last long.

Brother Ryan you are so right! This world is drowning fast! It is definitely getting worse and worse every day. Keeping alert and talking about these things helps us in our preaching work and also helps us strengthen our faith in Jehovah as the only answer.
