The article made me think of this scripture

(Revelation 18:16-17)  ‘Too bad, too bad, the great city, clothed with fine linen, purple, and scarlet and richly adorned with gold ornaments, precious stones, and pearls, because in one hour such great riches have been devastated!’. . .

Did you folks notice all the other stories on top and down the right side?  Murders- one 40 years of of 2 children, Japan wanting to be able to fight in war not just for defense, China's people over worked and over stressed they get to wear a mask at work each week- masks hide true feelings so you don't have to see and be affected by the hostility of others, Greeks rioting because of the wretched laws now in action in their country....list goes on and on.

Some can say it's because we're more informed, if that were true why is there no stories about good things, even neutral things? Because this world is prime for destruction. Satan has made it almost unbearable to live here. Thank Jehovah for him and his spiritual paradise, how do worldly people cope with all this.

If I sound depressed I'm certainly not. News reports make my faith more firm, as it should for all of us. Ex 14:13-  Then Moses said to the people: “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and see the salvation of Jehovah that he will perform for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you will never ever see again.

In our time it will be 'For the world you see today, you will never see again"

You asked a good question Cheryl - how do people cope with all of this?  Asking myself that question is the motivation for getting out in service.  After I watch the news, I begin to hate people and want nothing to do with them - the news makes you believe that there are only bad people out there trying to get you or scam you or rob you or kill you.  But after I wipe the tears I think:  I have a hope, a real hope that will soon be realized, there must be others out there like me but have NO hope - I have to find them!

I needed to find a way around the way I felt about people about seeing the news and that did it, I'm so grateful!

Don't live for the moment - live for the future! :D

Thank You, Cheryl. The thought of all our great God has blessed us with makes this world tolerable, until the better things come along. That Hope is going to be our touch stone, many a time, in the near future.

I don't recall where I read it, and I believe it was on one of these web pages, but the question was, "can you count how many times you have prayed today?"  If you can, it isn't enough.

"there was Jehovah’s word for him, and it went on to say to him: “What is your business here, E·lijah?" To this (Elijah) he said: “I have been absolutely jealous for Jehovah the God of armies"- 1 Kings 19:9, 10 Reference Bible

Ecclesiastes 7:21 "..., do not give your heart to all the words that people may speak," - Reference Bible
