Wow, it is a great witness.  A lot of friends' parents, including my own, moved from the South to the North in order to get better work opportunities.  The Southern states lost some valuable skills and talents because of their entrenched racist attitudes in the early to mid decades of the 1900's, because they went to the North and built cars in Detroit, and were the manufacturing backbone of the US throughout the Mideast and  the Eastern northern states.

Many also, like this brother, moved back South to retire with their earned pensions, and I met many of my older brothers who did just that in the Southern congregations, when I moved South with my husband.  Our son moved South after Bethel with his wife, because he was raised there.

The incredible beauty and laid-back life of the South, and the need for more witnessing, have drawn many there.  A brother that I know knew Samuel Herd when he and his wife special pioneered and served in the traveling work in Mississippi.  He and his wife also pioneered there for several years.
