This is the Upper Peninsula of Michigan

and we have NO snow--anywhere!post-5984-0-08654700-1450963959.gif

Our hotels and motels are usually jam-packed with skiers

and snowmobilers.  Their parking lots are empty.

Happened back in 2006, too.

High winds (gusts up to 57mph) knocked

out our power and I'm guessing the Mighty Mac

is closed, at least to itty bitty cars and trucks and

buses.

High winds and trucks don't make for a good mix on the Mighty Mac':

After two winters of 'polar vortexes', which resulted in

month after month of minus 30 to minus 40 degrees (F),

it is both wacky and wild to wake up on December 24th

to a temperature ABOVE freezing.  It was 47degrees

above zero, when we went to bed last night.

Viva El Niño!!!

Any wacky wild weather to report where you live?

Normal chilly wintery, snowy weather here in Colorado. We had some high winds too, they were reporting 120+ MPH wind gusts. Of course that didn't stop the Brothers from getting out in service.

Its currently -17℉ and partly sunny,

Hopefully they don't get reassigned to a new territory like Elijah.. :)

We are having four seasons in one day here and it's summer ... we wake up to overcast conditions that either clear and then worsen again by the evening, or it gets worse first thing and clears. VERY windy - hardly a day without wind. Hail in parts of New Zealand and record highs in other parts.

We had a huge storm system this past weekend which claimed at least 43 lives. The extreme weather included deadly tornadoes in Texas, flash floods in Oklahoma and blizzards in New Mexico.

Missouri and New Mexico were declared states of emergency.

In the Texas city of Garland, 20 miles north of Dallas, an EF-4 tornado tore through with winds of up to 200mph.

Dept. of public safety in Amarillo strongly discouraged travel throughout the entire Texas Panhandle Monday due to continued disruption from storms and of potential flooding.

Disastrous” flooding would occur in eastern Oklahoma, where some areas received up to a foot or more of rain over the weekend.

In Mississippi, tornado warnings were posted as a squall line moved west to east and more than 6,800 power customers lacked electricity early on Monday.

Northern Mississippi residents were still cleaning up from a tornado that struck on Wednesday and killed 10 people.

A range of precipitation was forecast on Monday for the country’s midsection, including heavy snow, ice and blustery winds in parts of 11 states and heavy rain in already waterlogged parts of Missouri and Arkansas.

We are now seeing rivers peak at the highest ever recorded in our area. I am on the northern border of Oklahoma and Arkansas.
