JW Library data migrate to other device

Recommended Posts

I purchased another tablet. This one is with Windows 10 too. I like these Windows based tablets: they are so much faster than an Android one. JW Library also works faster too.

Anyway: I want to migrate my personal JW Library data (highlights, notes, etc.) to my new tablet. I know that officially isn't supported this action, but still... anyone has an idea how to do that?

If you had an android tablet, it would've been possible. With windows... you can make them again from scratch, it will be fast since you have a faster tablet :D

If you had an SD card in your android tablet that held all your video/music, I would unmount it from the Android and mount it into your Windows tablet - that may save you from having to re-download all the music and video's.  (I say "may" because the format for downloading into Windows may be different in Android and it may just be that it won't transfer with an SD card properly)

Don't live for the moment - live for the future! :D

If you navigate to this folder

C:\Users\ <username> \AppData\Local\Packages\WatchtowerBibleandTractSo.45909CDBADF3C_5rz59y55nfz3e\LocalState\Data

That folder holds the data files used by JW Library.  The UserData.db file has the personal data.  I've never tried copying it from one device to another.

You can also use an adapter for micro sd to sd then a card reader plugged in to usb ( or micro usb ) on your tablet, then copy files mentioned above.

External card reader works on Win 10 & Android tablets - or does on those I am familiar with.

You can also connect wireless mouse &/or keyboard-touchpad thru micro usb on android tablets. Do it on my Samsung Tab 3 & Tab A
