Kidde Fire Extinguishers recall 40 million units from 1970's till now

Check your fire extiguishers Kidde has made a majour recall.

There is a plastic handled extinguisher in 

our bedroom hallway, one in the kitchen

and one in all of our big tractors and both of our personal vehicles.

All Kidde brand.

No kidding.

Yup.  We'll get new ones.  But it will probably cost me two days on the phone

and a great deal of aggravation.

I have three extinguishers, two large one and one small one. I checked the Kidde website and the two large ones are being recalled. I entered all the info online and they say I'll get the two replacements in 10-15 days.

 

The only problem I had is that one of the extinguishers was made in Mexico and I couldn't find the model number. I poked around the Kidde site and finally found a diagram that showed where the model number was located. The date code was different too but I finally got the site to accept the code.

 

I think I'll use the two recalled extinguishers as trainers and let my wife do some live training
