Oh, that fine red glow.

When it's gone, we will miss it so.

People have said they will miss having the time and temperature there on the sign..how many times that drew multi-millions of eyes to the name, 'Watchtower' since 1969..

One small crack doesn't mean you are broken; it means that you were put to the test and didn't fall apart..

A few years back the Brothers decided to save on electrical bills and turned the clock sign off. Many complaints were received by the city and the chamber of commerce. Brooklyn Bridge traffic had become dependent on the clock sign. An agreement was made with the powers that be, to meter the clock separately and the bill picked up by the City or chamber, I can't remember which.

I am not sying I am Superman, I am only saying that nobody has ever seen Superman  and me in a room together.

A few years back, a young elder and former bethelite in my congregation told me in a decidedly unkind and tactless manner that they were told during morning worship this story was factually false and to stop repeating it. I apologized, but the way it was handled left a sour taste in my mouth. Obviously, I remember the account rather well.

So, what, really is the story here?

“It’s not how much we know that pleases Jehovah, but how we feel about what we know and how we have allowed that knowledge to increase our love for Jehovah.”
