Minnie Riperton - Lovin' You - 1975

I was already planning on posting that Mariah cover but I’m sure Mariah Carey was heavily influenced by Minnie Ripperton.

The Hebrew word cushi or kushi is an affectionate term generally used in the Bible to refer to a dark-skinned person of African descent.

This one can get into your head.   Put your headphones on, and don’t forget to put on your boogie woogie shoes.     :headphones::dance:

Great song by Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush.  Has that old folk music sound to it. Nice base sound.

Kind of a unique way they did this duet....taking turns turning and singing.

:headphones: Don’t give up

Had a few great songs together in the 60s. Certain voices just clique, and they did,....at least for a while. Sonny looks like a caveman

Marvin Gaye’s masterpiece. I heard it today and was reminded how much I like this song. Jack posted it long while back, but I felt like an encore.  I know Jack won’t mind, he loves this song too. :coffee:

In the song he uses crowd’s voices in the background. I would never have thought that would be a good idea.....but I think it worked great on this song. Headphones on, close your eyes and those voices will make you think your in the song...

Whats going on      Marvin Gaye

When I was a kid in the 60s, Ladonna Gaines was a kid just a few miles away in Dorchester, MA.  She turned out to be. “The Queen of Disco”....Donna Summer.
This is My favorite song from the disco era. I think she was an underrated singer. She not only had a powerful flawless beautiful voice, but I thought she had a unique sound. Kind of a down to earth sound. She had 14 Top Ten hits over a 9 year span.....and a very cute voice .
Ok I admit it, I had a crush on her.

She had a great personality.....but it was not to be.:coffee::lol1:

This was always the last song of her concerts.

I think this song really highlighted Elvis’ voice. A Great ballad, beautiful melody, interesting lyrics.

Big Daddy Kane - Set it Off

Big Daddy Kane, one of the best hip hop lyricists of all time. I wanted to post one of his songs a while ago but there was a mild curse word in it 🙁
