My hubby has the Olympics on.

Pairs skaters from the atheist country, China, chose to skate to ' Hallelujah', by Katey Perry?

 

Was really strange to hear, "Praise Jehovah, Praise Jehovah, Praise Jehovah" being sung through their entire routine.   Chinese government officials must not realize what Hallelujah means.

I do not watch all of the Olympics - some of it just doesn't interest me.

 

That said, I have seen a few events. I saw some of the curling and some of the snowboarding.

 

What makes me go "Humph" is that, while the competition should be about the skill of the athletes, the first thing they do when a particular event concludes is hand the Gold Medal winner a flag. Then those athletes try to find something to do with that flag - like wear it as a cape .....

 

H U M P H !

 

Why can't they leave it be about the skill and expertise  and let them do what they will with the flag when they hand out the medals at the platform instead of shoving a flag in their hands while they are still holding their equipment and waving to the crowd
