Teymur Akhmedov Released From Kazakhstan Prison on April 4, 2018

The president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, pardoned Teymur Akhmedov, and he was released from custody on April 4, 2018. Earlier, on March 27, 2018, authorities permitted Brother Akhmedov to receive urgent surgical care in a hospital in Almaty, where he is currently recuperating.

Brother Akhmedov, 62, has been in prison since January 18, 2017, for merely practicing his faith. He is glad to finally be reunited with his family.

We all rejoice that Jehovah rescued his loyal servant.–2 Samuel 22:2.

Great news! I have been thinking about this courageous brother for more than a year. Another brother ( now former) got scared and left the truth when persecuted. But Teymur remained faithful. Good example for us!

I was studying the Bible reading for this week and thought of this comment above.

Likewise, these are the ones sown on rocky ground; as soon as they have heard the word, they accept it with joy. Yet they have no root in themselves, but they continue for a time; then as soon as tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, they are stumbled. --Mark 4:16,17.

I remember praying for this brother. I imagine the environment there must be pretty hostile to the witnesses with Kazakhstan being somewhat allied with Russia and being a pretty Islamic country. So glad that our prayers on his behalf were answered. Hopefully the same will be said of the poor friends in Russia, soon.
