Pope Francis: Lord’s Prayer to CHANGE as it implies God ‘induces temptation’

Seems to me all that the KJV needs is a comma.

It would change the tone of the first part. See if you agree:

 "And lead us , not into temptation (because that would be unthinkable of God) , but (rather) deliver us from evil".

 

This helps with the thought-bridge between 'lead' and 'deliver'.

Yes,that's a good option, but for the sake of clarity and consistency, I would do it the following way:

 

"And lead us , not into temptation, but our deliverance from evil".
